Thorn Hill was established in 1992. Since it's inception there has been only one member change, which clearly reflects the commitment toward a unified goal. Having played nearly every venue, both large and small, in and around Orange County, California, live performances have been honed to a fine edge. Film projects and festival shows are not uncommon to the band either. Numerous favorable publication reviews relating to live shows and recordings have been conducted throughout Thorn Hill's life.Influences range dramatically from bands such as The Cars, Queensryche, Creed, Stone Temple Pilots, Black Sabbath, Incubus, Pearl Jam, and many others. Thorn Hill's style is best summed up as hard-edged aggressive rock. The musical variances produce deep grooves, real and often disturbing lyrics, and an airtight rhythmic foundation. Twin brothers Marc Pugh (guitar) and Dean Pugh (bass) immediately come across as telepathically linked in reference to song direction and structures. Pierce intensely delivers every vocal performance with power and personal emotion that only real life issues and experiences could possibly design. Brent's drumming is melodic, solid and tightly locked into Dean's bass playing, yet maintains and delivers interesting power, feel and mood.Sincere dedication to a specific style of music, yet evolving through the years, has afforded the opportunity to self-produce and record two professional full-length CDs. Both of these recordings clearly define the essence of Thorn Hill, and are available for review. Please contact us for any further information. CDs and merchandise can be purchased online.
